BCE Inc > Ex div date.

Ex div date.

So if the ex-div date is Mar. 12, do I need to own BCE on that date or before to get the div ?

if I own it today and sell it on the 12, would I still get the div ?

if I own it today and get the div. Will the stock plummet 6% on Monday ? Lol

I hear you, it took me a while to get the simplicity straight. You need to own the shares at least a day before the X date. The stock will open x-div on Friday morning. So it will open down 87 or 88 cents from Thursday's close. I did quite well last time by purchasing a few weeks before x and then selling before xdate. I might hold on this quarter as the market cycle is shifting back to these ...more
