Well, the market has voted on CRTC rates and BCE LOSES???

Today closing price, Rogers up 24 cents Bell down 18 cents AND TELUS UP 45 CENTS, THE LATTER AT $22.45 WHICH IF YOU DOUBLE THIS TO THE BCE CLOSING PRICE OF $45.39 IS THE EQUIVALENT OF TELUS CLOSING UP $1, WHICH REALLY SUCKS ....

Not finished giving away assets yet, CRTC still has to rule on wire line and internet . This slow drip of  capital expense dilution will keep a dark cloud over telcos heads for a long time. But only forvthosecehominvested money, bsomecemaller names will get the free lunch courtesy the National liberal socialist part and it dim witted associates.

I took a look and it's really not bad... Bell asked for 33.2% and got 30% (and 5year exclusivity) and 26.4 (which it got) Positions of parties  Bell Canada submitted that the rates for its multi-gigabit temporary FTTP access should include a supplementary markup of 33.2% to account for the risk the company bears when it grants competitors the ability to request access at a ...more

bottom line when government hinders your source of revenue it makes you less proftable and this comes at a very big moment when bce needs every dollar it can scrape up, like rci they can come up with some gerry rigging to shift assets off the balance sheet but its still not real.

Politics aside The nuts and bolts of this is Bell just secured their asks (30% markup) and now have small guys like Tek Savvy who can sell the Bell services to customers while Bell makes a profit on it. In a way this just creates a marketplace for Bell to allow others to absorb the costs of sales, commissions, retail footprint, and customer service and collections etc.  while selling ...more

blue dawn, you cannot push politics aside when its the reason they are in trouble, face reality ,reduced credit ratings, increased debt, po ratio at 180%, government reducing immigraton etc etc, beside whats the market saying ? dont believe me or other detractors its a dog and will be until investors get clarity of what they are doing about these problems. Why stand in front of a moving train ?

The politics of this aren't in play cause the CRTC gave Bell what Bell asked for 5y exclusivity and a 30% mark up... Which is far different than the political sabre that "Bell is big enough to sell at a small loss" when this all started...  (if this was the case and we were talking 1y 10% mark up then sure politics at play) Quebecor not the government initiated the price war ...more

Like I said you are parrying every attack by a fairly disgusting troll who's only puprose is to bash a stock on a board that it obviously doesn't own.  You have to ask yourself why it does that? The disgusting troll's vested interest doesn't align with yours so it will never see your point of view. By all means keep fighting if you want to but also know...you don't have ...more

The interesting thing is this is a much more compelling play now than when it was at $70 because of the changes made this year .   The CRTC ruling was another piece that needed to click to place. in 2010 it was a 40% markup in 2019 it was changed to a 30% markup If they trimmed that 30% things would have been much worse.  But not only did they hold the 30% they also gave a 5year ...more
