BCE Shares down to a 12 year low

Everything you hear or read about them is negative.

Some brok firms have lowered their price targets to the low $40s and some are waiting for earnings before lowering their PT. 

This downfall is not over.

I think there is a lot more leg room in this than the analysts are projecting.   Bell in Canada has 7.7 million locations and 4.5 million subscribers for high speed internet and roughly 80% of those are on fiber.( 3.6M fiber subs and a 47% market penetration. ) Ziply services 1.3M locations with a 30% market penetration.  There is a significant low hanging fruit to get the ...more

BlueDawn, what you fail to realize is investors have bought BCE for the dividend and stability.  No one bought BCE shares for their supposed 30-40% projected growth. If they wanted a growth stock they would have bought something else. Not BCE! What mgmt has done to their long time shareholders, many of them pensioners, is totally unacceptable. GL

The key here is growth in earnings and free cashflow which is needed to pay down high debt levels and support not only the existing dividend but go forward dividend growth  Doesn't seem like a Canada only telco solution will support Bell with the needed free cashflow to sustain the dividend so they needed to branch out into the larger USA market This is positive for long term ...more
