I think they were in an untenable position financially with declining revenues,very competitive environment and governmnets regulating they let competitors use  thier infrastructure . They did retain broadcasting rights for a long period so that should keep a viable revenue stream open. Thier client base have been making decisins on where to spend thier money more frugally lately and the add

MLSE doesn't pay a dividend, so that cow wasn't giving any cash. Well, at least up until they sold it.
