Cole Kachur - BNN - DON'T BUY

DON'T BUY

Recent sale of MLSE will generate significant cash windfall. Comes at a good time, with concerns about debt load. Debt rating was cut. Traditionally owned for the dividend, so a cut would be a last resort. That said, you still need strong cashflows to pay that dividend while servicing your debt.

Not super-high on his list of Canadian stocks to own, but he does understand income needs. Rate cuts should propel stock forward. Not a terrible stock, but he'd look elsewhere.

Next week someone will likely be recommending BCE. If it goes down further, I'll buy more.

Yes, I've held Doman for quite a while. I sold at a small profit (excluding the dividends) a couple of years ago and got back in several months ago. Unfortunately I bought only a quarter to a third of my original position. I'm happy to hang in there with BCE & collect the dividend. We'll see what the financials look like for 3rd Q. Hopefully their cost cutting will result in ...more
