BMO Nesbitt Burns analyst John Gibson has raised Black Diamond Group Ltd.  to “outperform” from “market perform” with a $3.50 target, up from $2.25. The average is $2.85.

By optionality I assume he is referring to its potential as a significant revenue generator, but I would think the BDI executives would also be considering a future sale/spinoff that could net huge money for BDI. The company should be worth atleast $3 based on their current assets. Doesn't seems like the $720 million contract or Lodgelink gets the love it deserves. Lodgelink is hiring 760 workers over the next 5 years. Even if BDI doubles over the next 5 years, which is very conservative, you're most likely gonna end up beating the S&P 500. Reguarly buying BDI shares can be a very smart thing

The $720 million contract for the work camp for the Goldboro LNG project is a very big IF so it's being discounted appropriately. The LongeLink optionality is very interesting. If it works out and continues growing it will be a very nice SaaS business and will warrant a much higher multiple. If it works out it would eclipse the value of the rest of Black Diamond's rental business.

Yeah, I think when you look at the history of Pieridae and the Goldsboro LnG project, it doesn't seem like Pieridae is the company to make it happen. They don't seem to have the best track record. It would be a HUGE bonus if it received a positive FID, but I'm doubtful. LodgeLink is where the excitement is for sure.
