Patent decision pending
As noted , the challenge needs to be ruled on with the patent office before any lawsuit will proceed . This reminds me of the guy who built the first car in the US . Seldon (I believe his name was) , received a patent for "the car" and sued every car company for royalties until Ford challenged it and won .
I put this in that catagory but time will tell but in plain english , you cannot patent a vague idea . The specific's will render this uninforcable .

Sorry for spaming the board Topdown - just sharing things as I find them. How can I tell the patent is still pending? It seems like it has been issued and that is why we are being sued now?

And one final point Plutus , if there was any legitimacy to this story , BIR would be dropping like a stone . It certainly wouldn't be up and in the green . BIR has been held back by forces looking to shake out weak hands and reactionary traders . This release smacks of manipulation and I would suggest you don't fall into the trap .

Well it seems BIR is still holding up , VII is getting killed . Provided BIR can hold $2/sh it should signal future support in this market of panic and virtue signaling

Bir is down 4% and Seven Gen down just under 3% , I wouldn't say there getting killed. We got enough problems in this NG industry, we sure don't need added expense with lawsuits...

Barney , BIR has risen in the past few days while VII has dropped 5% every day this week . I was speaking in a bit bigger time frame than just today .

Yeah I see your point, either way we have enough hurdles to jump we sure don't need frivolous (I hope) lawsuits to contend with.

Isn't it sad that CIPO received a lot of objections to Steelhead's patent application and they were still granted one? I think I saw 5 or 6 companies object.

What are the chances they win in court because they are a First Nations company? Jeff Tonken talked about all these confidentiality agreements around Rockies LNG. Consultng with First Nations etc....honestly....I wish we didn't get wrapped up in this. We probably didn't hear much on the Rockies LNG front because of this patent application and pending lawsuit.

I believe the stench here is deeper than what is at the surface. reminds me of other similar but non native dealings.

It could be a year before a trial would ever begin , who knows where sentiment will be by then . If Steelhead wants to waste what little money they have left , let them . It sure won't gain them any more clients or investors and in the mean time both BIR and VII will keep building cash and moving forward .

Well barney , I'm not going to gloat but I will say BIR has looked poised to make a break and the price action these past several days should give all holders a good feeling and NO INSOMNIA , lol . Cheers to all longs

Yes a nice day today for sure, hope we can back it up tomorrow. Have to admit I sold just a touch today ( was overweight) to add to my Whitecp as I can use the dividend increase that's coming with the Torc merger.

Nice call barney , its hard to argue with any producer with a net negative footprint (whether the government wants to admit it or not)

I have no doubt that Ottawa and many others are preparing a funeral service for the industry through assisted murder. The real question is at what point , do these bozos confess to their ridiculous charade? In the mean time we will have to buckle our seat belts !!
