word around the campfire is that its getting harder and harder to raise cash for take-overs in the patch these days. Mergers of EQUALS or all share TOs are still possible thou. I believe that BIR will have one of the worst among some tough results in this Q2 for nat gas producers. Still holding, but this dividend may have to be re-examined in view of both AECO/NYMEX pricing..see what happens ...more

Agreed on EVERYTHING you said.........Unfortunately. As to the difficulty in "raising capital" for the Canadian O&G sector, for whatever reason it may be, be it for M&A or to support/advance ongoing operations, is a faaaaar cry from the Rock & Rolln" good times situation it was in the 90's or even around as recent as 2010. In it's heyday, the M&A business ...more
