They need to Annex kyiv before reaching Kryvyi Rih.  international community will not allow that to happen. The two provinces decided to leave Ukraine to a certain extend. At least they had an referendum to adjust the separation . For the residents, it may be better to join Russia as their industries to tied with Russian supply chain.
