spoke to broker friend he is OILMAN not accountant told me story about GXE i listen.Eddie Gilmet deleverage company to tell bank stick finger in hole and swivel as he has company back and in control. Eddie big plans erin nuttal accumulating big stock position GXE not down wit oil hug 49-50c 4 weeks chart guy says more accumulation for TOP PICK i say what Eddie plans????broker energy guy NOT ACCOUNTANT says GXE everyone knocking down door for deleveraging vehicle to merge high debt NO DRILL companies.i say give names dont keep me hanging he say CJ NO DRILL merge newco 200million flowing cash 1x debt 3 bagger POP he also say more JOY NO DRIL and he is boss so big problem for some. EDDIE too guy smart ceo but other NO DRIL not so smart guys have corporate entitlement want only to keep job.  Any chance your broker could come on here and articulate his supposition? Reading between the lines (which is difficult) I see merit in the deleveraging argument and creating a Newco with a lower cost of capital. Essentially this is the WCP model where Grant Fagerheim bought a combination of low decline mature assets (Weyburn Carbon Capture 2017 off Cenovus) while consolidating top decile ...more

I agree - it would be interesting to hear these views with a little more detail from your broker. GXE is obviously under accumulation. Nearly half the float has traded hands in the last 2 months and yet the stock remails flat no matter the market fluctations. The other names mentioned here can jump 10% in a day depending on which way the wind is blowing. 3 big catalysts coming up for GXE in the ...more

 Ridgeback is the old Lightstream Cardium/Bakken premium assets AlexPKeaton89. Bought when private equity believed the oil market was turning the corner. 2020 Blackswan changed things, however Ridgeback is on track to payoff their entire bank debt. They have reduced their corporate decline rate and a deal/merger would be transformative for both companies creating a liquidity event and listing ...more

 After rereading your post, I gather you/or your broker are saying there are too many OG companies in Canada not doing much to create shareholding value yet are highly compensated.( I get the point it is not 2014) Why should the executives who preside over indebted OG companies be richly rewarded? Shouldn’t their pay be clawed back to reflect their smaller production base and/or enterprise ...more

I agree AliNaimi. I've heard rumblings that they are in talks but nothing concrete. It sure looks like a nice fit for both parties and specifically for BNE. BNE would be the darling of the oil sector for H2 if this were to come to fruition.
