Is what it is…

I don't think it matters whether you are bullish camp of Bne or bearish camp of Bne...the problem tomorrow and rest of this week when stock starts trading is the expectations a group of retail investors have on how soon of a timeframe a return of capital strategy will happen.
Any selling pressure into this type of market conditions and Jane a 20-40 cent drop.
Just because Pne didn't drop after q2 doesn't mean that it shouldn't have or will by June 30th.

I am not going to bash Bne as they are actually doing the right strategy for the long term, and good management to do this pivot for the next 3-5 years.

It's too bad they didn't do a share offering right after the Charlie lake and raise 30m -50m in cash and use that too fund Charlie lake...even if it would have increased share outstanding to 50m range...it would have speed up the time frame so much in which they would be in financial shape to do a return of capital to shareholders.

Question: would you support a Montney sell for 25-50m, which would put us back in a divvy position, along with stronger focus on CL?  because with LNG coming online in the next 6 months, with feed from Montney, I kinda like that idea. Montney is a bit rich for BNE, but would be a great sell once it has two wells and a battery going.. thoughts?

Sorry LNG in the next year**

Great hypothetical, I suggest you read the entire report. Selling for 25-50m isn't going to move the needle enough in the future. They can't cover costs sufficently now let alone pay a div.

Ohhh jnasty.. eventually your comments will be aligned with reality, orrr your just trying to help your shorts. like every comment is a negative the world is ending with no evidence, flat out lies. Or just constantly trying to show you'll be right based on daily moves. Told you so bs based on nothing.  I bought at 2.75, I am BNE long for another year, and I like what management is ...more

Not a troll, just not emotionally investing. I had been in this company and now I'm not. Are you having fun yet?!

I thought about it and think they will and should keep it. Charlie Lake drills are less costly but have lower reserves and so a lower recycle ratio. Montney's recycle ratio is 3.5 vs 2 for CL, a 75% increase.  So what's actually happening is they are cycling Cardium cash flow into CL and that CF (partly) into Montney, improving both pay-back as recycle ratio's. This all before ...more

I disagree. Charlie Lake is being drilled as fast as possible simply by shifting Cardium capex into CL with much better (near twice) capital efficiencies. Bought in March this year, drilling in June and you think it could go faster? Really?  And issuing shares at below 50% of NAV PDP before any of the NAV PDP value adds of Charlie Lake and Montney is plain stupid. The strength in these buys ...more

Resilence..Issuing shares wouldnt have been the end of the world as you can rebuy the shares back in the future. Cost of borrrowing money is very very high right now. By issuing shares and raising money they could use the cardium FCF for rest of the year to pay down debt versus funding CL program. Even if Cardium can fund CL wells...BNE isnt on pace to FCF much in 2024 and pay down debt. Any ...more

IF, big IF it all goes according to plan.

The structure of the debt is such that they couldn't pay down the expensive debt more than they did. I have tried to bring this point across several times: the term debt is being paid down per quarter. Can't accelerate it.  The bond can't be paid w/o full interest, so makes no sense to pay back before Oct '25.  The bank debt they kept low for opportunities and it ...more

Watch the peters and co. Presentation with Bonterra where the CEO openly says there is only one year remaining of Tier 1 inventory remaining in the Bonterra Cardium. Let me know your thoughts all, pretty shocking this was 8months ago. They wanted to transact and do M&A but had to pivot due to not having the cash and the stock price being so low. LOL here comes an adventure!

He said Teir one is less than 1 year payout LOL.....    Do you even understand what that means?  It means the well paysout in less than 1 year....
Comment by Jnasty2pointO on May 16, 2024 11:28pm
lol, I will own that 100%. As a rationale person will do my apologies. I talked to Paul last year he told me 2-3 years left which made question what I thought I heard in the conference. Good luck to all, eyes wide open, either way you will thank me for a balance approach.
Comment by askQuestions1 on May 21, 2024 8:40pm
In the conference he said they have 7 years of teir 1 drilling left in the Cardium.
Comment by Resilience2 on May 24, 2024 2:59am
Which conference, from a year ago? Tier 1 inventory duration has increased massively simply because they're now drilling much less Cardium and CL instead.  R.

And who is "Paul" that his opinion from two years ago overides what you read recently?

Patrick Oliver the CEO I meant. Lol my b

Looking forward to the first CL drilling. Too bad gas prices killed most of the rally in Cardium stocks but there are lots of trading opportunities right now. Two good trades followed by one poor trade when I bought back BNE a bit early this year but this is not a stock I am afraid to own long term.  lots of mispriced companies out there right now. Particularly resource stocks.
