BNS has an NCIB in place. It is time to use it.

It gets better for the bulls: StanChart expects last week’s gamma effects to reverse course with banks buying back positions thus reinforcing the short-term rebound.

BNS has an NCIB in place. It is time to use it. Actually BNS is doing the opposite of an NCIB, now issuing DRIP dividends as new shares from treasury.  With 1.19 billion share count that means some amount of re-capitalization money and accompanying dilution for shareholders. Scotiabank Announces Dividend on Outstanding Shares Earnings growth will be key to increasing the stock price.  ...more

Actually BNS has the following options for their DRIP which is not the opposite of an NCIB especially if they purchase them on the open market.  Ecouraging existing shareholders to reinvest their dividends back into BNS invigorates the stock price when the purchases are made and since shareholders are given a discount and charged no fees to do so it is a win-win in this environment.
