2 difference between the N's and the T's

1) Reset Date
2) Current 5yr rate used in Current Dividend Calculations.

There's a big diffence between the 2 on BOTH factors.  Both are SIGNIFICANT.

For me, LONG TERM, the reset date doesn't matter.... What matters long term is the Current 5yr rate used for dividend calculations.

N's = 0.94%
T's = 2.223%

"would take my money and spend it on myself and wife and enjoy life. " Actually we are doing just fine and lack for nothing. We have very diversified portfolio in investment accounts, TFSAs and RRIF. Taxation and estate management are priorities. The grandchildren will be OK. We can only hope they invest and manage their money well.

those rates appear high if your chart only goes back 10-15 years, historically current rates are near the median even slightly lower. Some will argue they cant stay this high because of this or that....well surprise surprise here comes some black swan event or stagflation and they keep soaring. I never assume to know what rates will do hence why some of my prefs have resetted in the past few ...more
