The short positions are completely meaningless. Just buy them and enjoy the dividends and capital appreciation. BPO prefs are the best buy among this asset class. -Donald

"These minuscule short positions will make no difference" Again it depends what you are looking at. For example the "T" have a short position of over 240,000 shares. Their trading averages less than 10,000 daily. If a large short wants (or is forced) to cover, it will move the shares.

Shorts, when buying preffereds your doing it for income and hopefully holding long term I made a mistake by selling the T at 15 because I had huge gain and was worried they might drop down learned my lesson and had to pay much more but this time will hold for years

Buy the "A" and get nearly 50% of your money back over the 5 year term. I don't need to be a CPA to figure that one out.
