A Conversation With Bruce Flatt and Mark Carney

Hi there,

I just listened to these very smart guys talk for 30 min and here is the link to it:

I think it is well worth the listen.

I have been the guy on here saying Brookfield is a "show me" story blah blah and I very much think their business has struggled these last couple years (covid, inflation, interest rates) and they most certainly likely have billions and billions in assets not performing to anywhere near expectation.

Nonetheless, with Bruce's leadership, nothing major ever hits the fan and it is quite astounding. I do not know of anything they have done in the last year or 2 to have the BN stock price now surging to all time highs, other than to not have anything hit the fan and just get through this inflation/higher interest rate period. Bruce talks to exactly this in this conversation with Carney.

As for us BPO pref holders who saw our holdings get hammered a year ago, things look so easy in the rear view mirror, right? lol.
