False Its not that complicated... Step 1. Find Shareholder's Equity as at December 31, 2020 on the balance sheet, which is $578,213,000 Step 2. Find shares outstanding as at December 31, 2020, which is 560,657,000 Step 3. Divide Shareholders Equity by Shares outstaning ($578,213,000/ 560,657,000) *Drum roll, please* = 1.03/share

Thank you for giving us some real talk and facts. I am not sure where this guy came up with $6 a share! The company suggests assets can be sold for $2.78 a share.

DCF is common financial analysis. You should try to understand what it means. Maybe learning it, you wouldn't find yourself so unlucky.

Obsidian had a 1 for 7 reverse split back in 2019, hence the unusually robust-looking book value...the reason was to remain in compliance with NYSE in order to keep their dual listing...However, I guess they eventually delisted anyways in 2020

Provide the link, 568 million shares are outstanding, can't see how book is $6, to the other poster I doubt this has anything to do with discounted cash flow and future value.

The TD data is a year old (2019). If you pull out the 2019 year end financials (https://www.baytexenergy.com/files/pdf/investor-relations/Financial%20Statements/BTE_YE_2019_FS-FINAL.pdf), here is what you get: Shareholders equity: 2,947,209,000 Shares outstanding: 557,048,000 2,947,209,000/557,048,000 = 5.29/share
