Why not a news like that from Baytex in Q1 results !!!

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/canadian-natural-resources-limited-announces-100000636.html

Still convince this is the better short term option they have to do !

Grab 50M shares under 1,75$ !!

After this p/s, it cost too much cashflow !

Only my O !

BTW, i suggest the newbies on this bullboard to read  Year end results 2018 throw 2020 including M&A !

Instead of dropping  pump and dump phrase, like too de moon ! Or 3$ in 2 weeks !!!

BTE is not a pump and dump stock ! And for my point of view, no more a speculative stock !

In the last month or so, BTE seems to be consider again as a stock to buy and hold by BIG BOYS and also more institutional funds  are watching !

This stock will climb with decent quarterly results like the Q1 coming beginning of May.

FCF climb fast ! as DEBT fall down quickly !!

Confidence is building !

Only my O !

Mgmt. won't spend on dime on buybacks until eoy or next year.  Only debt repayment for now.  I agree that they should start buying back shares while they are cheap and while the oil price is hedged at higher prices.

Buying back share does not make sense at this point since you increase the debt ratio per share which will increase interest on your credit. I agree whit you snoballer, better get rid of the debt. This will improve the SP. By the way, Baytex kept it's ground quite well today. This is a very positive response from the market.

Buyback 50M shares it's only roughly 75M$  ! It 's nothing for BTE, because I expect FCF way over 400M$ ! Without increasing production ! May be I am wrong !  But never miss my target so far with BTE !!! I think Q1 will reveils a wonderful surprise ! My pendulum working very well !!! LOL ! GL LONGS !

To red2000: Don't forget that a buyback, to be interesting, need to be an improvment for the seller. Bottom line is that a primium of 10 or 15% of the SP have to be offer. That increase the share buyback price by 10M Otherwise, was is the point. On top of that, you send a very strange message to the market because such a stategy applied by company who have a strong and very healthy cash ...more

2020oilgamble: You are right on the price of the buyback that should be at the open market. My point was that such option is not an invitation for interessed parties to do so unless a company really want the initiative to be successfull. What is the point otherwise? On the other hand, such initiative could be a source of concern having very limited cashflow like Baytex's current situation ...more
