Please explain

Fcf is $70 mil... reduce debt by 89 mil... why loss 6 cents per share..if some one understands financial statement please advise...thanks

Probably some asset depreciation to claim loss and avoid taxes, just a opinion , though i dont know for sure.

Net income includes non cash items such as depreciation, unrealized exchange gain or loss and some other items, but FCF is the net of total revenue less all cash related expenses such as cost of goods sold, salaries, marketing and so on. In other word cash is already paid or it is reflected in to total debt for non cash items which includes in net income, FCF is more important than net earnings to ...more

It's an oddity of accounting , BTE has some hedges that keep their max price at $55/bbl for 40% of production until Dec 2021 . With WTI at $65 , BTE is loosing the difference on that production and those unrealized estimated "losses" were calculated and charged against AFF . Hi red2000 , it's been a while . Market reaction will be interesting as it can be played both ways depending on what you want to concentrate on (debt reduction , increased production/cash flow or unrealized losses) .  BTE net debt dropped $300 million in 12 months or BTE looses $35 million in Q1 , we'll see how the story gets reported .
