Analystgrimes : What SP are you expecting from BTE for you to sell them ? 10$, 20$ or 30$...  I presume not as aggressive as 50$+.  Personally, I plan to hold BTE for 2 to 3 years and  am  figuring out how high can BTE go in these 2 to 3 years !
Comment by dandu1924 on Dec 08, 2021 11:46am
We should easily  get $25 because,  debt reduced, buyback shares, dividend and back in the majors index and but of course FCF up up up +++.
Comment by gareez47 on Dec 08, 2021 11:51am
$50 was way back when they had far fewer shares out and a dividend that they could not sustain. $10 would be the more likely sell point unless we see dividends again at which point I will re-evaluate. My opinion only

forecast123, I expect 10.00 very soon. Alot of insitutions are moving their funds from tech into the oil sector as where there is expected to be most of the growth in 2022. I expect as we should see some major inflation sticking to the markets we could expect to see a 82.00 SP within 2-3 years. The SPR released more oil to not freak out the market this week. We are at all time lows in the ...more

AnalystGrimes: Do you have a typo error for a  82.00 SP in 2 to 3 years ?????  There is no way it will reach 82$ !!!  Regarding 10$ very soon, it is still very aggressive but at least not as far reaching as a 82.00 SP for BTE !
Comment by Renofund on Dec 08, 2021 12:44pm
hahaha. A lot of folks on these boards confused target price for wish price.

$82/share? Come on man. I love the optimism and excitement but lets get back down to earth here. Gone are the days where everyone loved energy and supported inflated share prices. Even though we are seeing some great profitability return to the sector, it still faces a tremendous amount of headwind and volatility. Great returns will still come but come back to reality and give yourself a realistic ...more

ONE MILLION DOLLARS! ( with pinky in corner of mouth). I'll take it one chicken at a time. Buck, buck, buck, buck. Four bucks.
Comment by Renofund on Dec 08, 2021 1:27pm
at current share count, that makes it a 46B dollar company at 82/share LOL.  Now, one could say it could get there if they buy back enough shares - which is true but there would be 100 shares left lol.  Love it to 8 hoping for 10, and then we'll see.

Have to remember all the tech stocks are in an entire .com bubble and when it all comes down to it oil makes the world turn in productivity. I think oil is more valuable then a rock of gold. 46 billion dollar company with clear water in play and with a dividend along with being on the SP Index it's all possible. Compare buying a green company like tesla. You can buy a Tesla share today for ...more

I cant imagine BTE SP to be 85$.... I think if it reaches 15 to 20$ in 1-2 years, one should celebrate...  and re-evaluate what the direction of energy stock will go....   Don't be stubbornly greedy...  Pls.recall the days when people "hate" any Canadian energy stock...ESG is still the talk of the town and oil is quite a sunset (but will still remain) industry.
Comment by Beakr123 on Dec 08, 2021 1:56pm
But what does the tech stock bubble and their crazy valuations have to do with Oil and Gas? Nothing. Also your statement about oil being more valuable than gold, that would destroy the global economy. If consumers cannot afford to use products stemming from petroleum then there would be no market for oil. High oil prices arent always a good thing and at a certain point would further support ...more

Good comparison red2000 , that puts things in perspective . This entire sector is severely undervalued , I patiently wait for the market to wake up and fairly price these stocks . Having said that , this is one stock I have no intention of selling , the next 2 years will see this company totally transformed . No debt , shares bought back and a dividend , with BTE being included in the index those ...more

20 bucks for Baytex. SIGN ME UP! I own 6 cdn oil stocks, baytex is my biggest holding, but if baytex gets to 20, my head dances with where the other stocks land.... We're in generational wealth territory

I invested successfully in the last 2 oil cycles my friend.  Well aware.  Love your enthusiasm, but a 46B MC wont happen.  Given your analyst handle, I would expect you to realize that tech companies and commodity companies are valued in vastly different ways.  As well, while there are MANY oil companies out there, there are very few viable EV companies, so more money chasing ...more
