Oh that was very droll... What, exactly, is the International Energy Agency? A place you stuff your nephew after he finally graduated? A place to have lunch? Years ago the IEA used to report on changes in oil prices by Fibonacci retracement levels...then they gave that up....so, where ARE the 200 million barrels? This looks like a case for....Inspector Clouseau...

And that's the point Lee.  Nobody, and I mean nobody knows with certainty what the market will do.  They can give you an idea what the market "should" but when these same blokes lose track of 200 million barrels...Well you get the picture. mas

I kind of separate it into two distinct things and I've questioned one of them on this board for some time. The first thing is the supply demand equation which is tilting towards demand out stripping supply. It's real. And there is no short term solution. The second thing is market reaction. The market is severely undervaluing cdn oil. The supply demand equation will result in serious fcf ...more

Yes the SP will increase as FCF and paybacks increase.    The re-rating (higher PE etc) will occur after multiple quarters of dividends and share buybacks. Many investors still see the O&G industry as being “done” and the current higher oil prices as a last gasp. For these investors the coming higher FCF is at best temporary. This coupled with anti-ESG views is a huge drag on the ...more
