looking at buying bte or vet which company do you guys think has more upside and why tia.

I have owned both,sold VET after they cut the div.Now I would probably buy both ,BTE is rolling in cash and will soon eliminate debt and start paying a good div, VET is 50-50 oil and gas and same ratio NA-Europe/Australia so very diversified and has reinstated a div after massively reducing debt.They have a lot of Europeen properties and even a joint venture in Ukraine.They are poised to profit ...more

VET has the edge due to european market access, particularly the gas.  Prices are going to be high for quite a while.

VET has tailwinds from the European crisis. However they have a very small reserve life. They essentially can't grow or they'll suck out every molecule they have.  It's yet to be seen if they will be able to grow reserves with how anti-energy that area of the world is.
