Good time for update on Clearwater, FCF, and stock buyback

Hey management act like you care where the stock price is trading unless you are working with these tools holding the price down.  Obviously the market thinks your inferior to other energy stocks.

Whats the ratio of Nat gas to Oil? , Nat Gas kicking the snot out of oil , heavy NG names outperform for now, build yourself a basket.

No competent management team cares about day to day or even month to month fluctuations of their share price. They should focus on what they do best. Extracting oil and creating value. The share price will follow.  Hell, I'm totally fine with the share price staying at $7 for another 12 months as that NCIB starts gaining steam. Their float is a tad too big for the mkt cap.

Hey Volk, I must have missed the original post.  I agree only an idiot management team would care about the stock price day to day. Only someone who has never been in management would suggest such a thing. What do I want my management teams focused on? Business Strategy and Execution...as mentioned in the last call...management should be completely 100% focused on operations. If the ...more

I made an attempt to look for buyback filings at SEDAR. Nothing yet. Since I can't watch constantly, maybe others can. https://www.sedar.com/DisplayProfile.do?lang=EN&issuerType=03&issuerNo=00031017 https://www.sedar.com/DisplayCompanyDocuments.do?lang=EN&issuerNo=00031017 We knew the $200 mil debt paydown was coming. The details of the buyback filing will be new news. Just ...more

I would fire any management team that didn't care where there stock is trading.  The stock market determines management performance.  If the stock price constantly underperforms other similar companies that says volumes about management.  So if your stock price is underperforming you need to give investors a reason to stay with you.

Share price is a component. One of many.  That being said BTE is +77% YTD and +227% 1YR. I bet any fund manager that got caught in the evisceration of the tech/growth stocks would give his first born for those numbers because those guys are actually about to lose their jobs. Can you fault a management team for the stock price being dragged down in early May? The broader market was down ...more

You guys are way too soft.  I don't care what the stock price did coming back from an extremely low valuation.  What are you doing for me now.  I want BTE stock price to be grossly overvalued NOW!!  We all know that if oil fell back to $60 this stock could be back to two buck chuck.

Did you only start playing the markets in 2020? The returns we have experienced post-covid crash until November 2021 are not normal and won't be for decades, if ever again. That was an insanely distorted market during 10T of fed intervention. It sounds like you want to be a trader, not an investor.  Anything that goes parabolic comes back down even steeper on the back side.  I ...more

I bought alot when it was trading down to .20 U.S.range averaging my position way down.  I even said on the IV board at the time this was 1000% return opportunity.  Sold when it bounced to around $2.40 and bought back in around $3.80.  I guess it was the Clearwater results that got me interested in BTE again and the netbacks they are receiving in Eagle Ford.  Bad hedges will ...more

here's the thing: the market is going to do whatever the market does. On the Bte mgmt side, I think they've been clearer than any company in the patch on exactly what the plan is to nurse the balance sheet back to health. They are following that plan and in fact because of strip pricing they're ahead of schedule. I think what you should do is very clearly read the June presentation and ...more

JD, while I have ff on ignore now I can see from your response here you are 100% correct. But let's not kid ourselves ff is not here for a discussion. The facts are clear to see. Let's not forget Baytex was one of the FIRST to publish a monthly newsletter (if not the first). They started the transparency movement in Cdn O&G.... These multiple aliases just play the game.
