maybe you should write some energy articles and gives the facts. I see some people writing about builds in API that indicates demand destruction but does not mention draw from SPR or give more attention to product build or draws.

Hi BSW, I know you have said in the past that API data doesnt include SPR release in its reporting. I usually get the data from oilprice.com and in their article this is what they state.  Is this more of a wording situation to conflate the narrative?  I tried to look into this to see if API includes the spr releases but couldnt really find the answer as to if and why.  I guess just ...more

The API doesn't break out the US government SPR release into the system (they don't report "Total" stock which is Commercial + SPR)...they report "commercial stock only. The SPR was never released to be a permanent fix to the supply constraint but to trick the public into thinking that oil prices won't go any higher with these inventory "builds". It will probably last until the midterm election to give the Democrats a fighting chance.
