Week-end reflexion...

Did Eric Nuttall 20$ target price for Baytex, take into account the acquisition of Ranger Oil ???

What's your answer !?

Absolutely. He has been in frequent contact with Eric Greager and the board. He knew this deal was happening and alluded to it in the same breath as the $20 handle. A $20 prediction looks pretty optimistic without the Ranger deal, but is well within the range for the new entity if you believe in $100 oil prices.

I respectfully disagree.  I don't think it would be ethical to give a price target with information that is not available to the public.  He would have risked losing credability if anyone used numbers to prove him wrong.  I guess we'll know more if he comes out with a "new" price target or not.  Regardless, I think we're heading towards bigger and better!

Nuttall could argue for $20 with or without the acquisition but he needs a $100+ oil. Little downside risk but a higher oil would trigger a recession. Not the most ideal condition at least for a year or two.

No need to worry about recession yet. There is still lots of money still swishing around from pandemic bailout.  But it is starting to wear off.
