The economy

is starting to slow 17,000 job losses in canada, the us will be next to show a  draw down in jobs. and even bigger job losses closer to the end of the year, less jobs=less demand for fuel  "it is not rocket science".

?  The whole point of the interest rate cuts is to increase the unemployment rate which would lead to lower inflation. Lower inflation = less chance of recession = stronger gdp growth = more industrial output = MORE ENERGY REQUIRED.  I have no problem with you being bearish, but would you mind not trying to post "stuff" like this. Unless ofc you are trying to intentionally ...more

not misleading, it is facts first there will be pain (the job losses) as you said to lower the inflation rate there goal is 2%, once they get that back under control then they can start to improve the economy and add jobs, it is just like the ice age it is a cycle first there will be some pain before you get to the good times. and joe slapping the hands of the saudis is a good thing in the long ...more

But the problem is that you made the job numbers sound bad.  In case you haven't noticed , the Nasdaq and S&P hit new highs.  I am starting to think that you are jst wasting everyone's time with your posts.

nope pretty plain language was used in describing the job numbers, no action words were used to descibe the job loss like huge, or massive etc. also no spelling mistakes lol, i think you are over reacting. is starting to slow 17,000 job losses in canada, the us will be next to show a  draw down in jobs. and even bigger job losses closer to the end of the year, less jobs=less demand for fuel& ...more

I think they'll be a recession in either H2 2023 or H1 2024 in both Canada and the USA. The price to pay in bringing inflation down is rising interest rates. Each individual rate hike typically takes 6-12 months to make its way through the economy re. higher interest rates on mortgages (both variable rate and fixed rate mortgages that will be up for renewal soon), business and personal loans ...more

Don't count on a huge recovery in Canada , as long as , the Marxists are in charge of government policies. The Hugo Chavez economic model hasn't  done well in Venezuela.  Canada's largest oil refivery , Irving Oil , is discussing a sale or possible shut down because of the insane dictates of the convicted criminal Guilbault.

Good tongue in check remark lol.   Its a slow moving recession as each 1/4 point rise takes another little bite out of the economy and out of your wallet.  The thing is which I agree with is these incremental raises in int rates eventually become cumulative and can take up to 6 months to really get the full effect.  Then everything comes crashing down in a more dramatic fashion as ...more
