19 million shares traded on the US markets. That's a lot of shares!

It looks like some big share holders didn't like the Ranger oil deal and were hoping that the deal do not pass through, so they dumped after knowing the deal is done. All my opinion

You really don't know much about mergers. This had nothing to do with dumping shares, it was probably the remaining shares from Ranger shareholders transferring stocks over to baytex to close the deal and done shorts covering.

I know very will about the merger, it looks like you don't know anything about it. In a merger the shares are not transferred as a sell or buy, they are simply reflecting to your account the day after the deal is closed. Today's transactions at the last hour were clearly a pressure to the sell side (dropping the SP from $4.42 to &4.24, then a small buying or short covering (bringing ...more

How can the deal not pass, the fund that controls 55% of the voting shares was the one that wanted the deal done. It was decided from day 1 that it was going to go through on the ranger side.

I know on the Ranger Oil side was a done deal because the deal was agreed at $75 WTI and current WTI price is lower than $72, if now oil was $85+ Ranger may have refused the deal, but for them is a win situation, but on BTE side i don't understand why the shareholders voted yes for the deal?
