I think a lot of people don't even get it....

Oil and Gas is gonna be around for some time whether we like it or not.

I don't think people have really sat down to think about what oil and gas represents...it's energy plain and simple. When people talk about electric vehicles, for some reason they seem to think the electricity that powers them is somehow an alternative...These batteries simply act as a method of transporting that energy that powers the vehicles...it's a carrier, it isn't energy...That energy has to come from somewhere else, to recharge those batteries, and more often than not...the energy that goes to refuel comes from hydrocarbons....

What's going to happen in those areas of the world suffering from the heat of the summer and experiencing "Brown Outs"...Gonna get a little tougher to recharge perhaps?

Yes indeed.  But there are other uses that people conviently seem to ignore.  Plastics &roads are huge uses of oil.  Getting rid of plastic bags is good for the environment but in no way will make much of a dent in our need for oil.   The use of plastics for almost anything you can think of is so prevalent in our civiization that there really is no practical alternative ...more

No one form of energy will dominate in the years ahead.  SMR's (small modular reactors) are the next generation of energy production as they're moving past the development stage and into deployment but they're not going displace O & G for a long long time.

At it's very simplest you have to consider the amout of ICE vehicles on the road today, how many are still being sold and how long does it take before they are off of the road. No end it sight IMO.  The other major thing is really simple. Population growth of 200,000 people per day. Every day. Think about that, let it sink in that all these people need food, water, power, fuel, clothes ...more
