BTE today

For me it looks that someone is selling BTE and buying CVE, BTE will start to go up once that person or institution is done selling.
Comment by Re1ndeer2 on Sep 07, 2023 6:27pm
I sold CVE this morning....Bought BTE and SGY.....

We small investors makes little difference in SP, the big pockets who makes the real difference and today's trading was clearly showing they were selling BTE and maybe buying CVE.
Comment by masfortuna on Sep 07, 2023 7:50pm
Where are you getting that a large investor sold bte and bought cve instead? So far this is your 7th post today and 2 were neutral and 5 were bearish. As I said yesterday, I don't think investing oil is for you mate. And may I add that your comment that you apparently invested 7 years ago in BTE would have seen the sp go to .28. You should be ecstatic that you are 2500% above the low you hit ...more

You Are Correct In Your Post And It Appears He's Only Important To Himself,The Guy Throws Out All Kinds Of Wild Scenarios,Lots Of Lies On The Stockboards!!

Where is the lie in my post, when a stock goes down is the pressure on the sell side or buy side ?you answer this question, and read my post correctly I said maybe buying CVE or I said in my opinion and further more it is through that small investors don't make a big difference in SP even if you don't agree and lastly I give my opinions and if anyone is investing based on my opinions or ...more

Because for someone who claims he is a devoted long, all you do is bash the stock EVEN ON GREEN DAYS...What you don't like your money???
Comment by Cobalt on Sep 07, 2023 11:40pm
Best to bash your longs see what the bulls have on the point , not like bashing on this forum moves the stock but i begin to believe you are a rare one who thinks the same 75 readers move the stock
Comment by Cobalt on Sep 07, 2023 11:44pm
to add back in the day SH would get 1000+ reads on a hot stock , 1000+ was an inicator to sell lul

Nah.  I am just honest with my comments "BECAUSE I KNOW MY COMMENTS WON'T CHANGE ANYTHING". So why be dishonest?
Comment by 1234bmth on Sep 08, 2023 12:53am
I am not bashing the stock and I am 100% long on BTE and I own BTE since 2016 is 100% true, my average cost is 5.54 is 100% true, but I don't like to lie all oil stocks lately didn't go up in line with oil price, but others at least didn't lose the gain of approximately 8 days in one day which BTE did today, more over for you guys the situation maybe different as I said before you may ...more

You are correct. For me the answer is simple as to why: about 850M shares and about $2.1B US in debt. If you examine ATH which is now almost at $4 SP = WOW, with such small production compared to BTE, it all is very clear. Yes I agree with others that IF the price of WTI remains at $80-85, the outlook for the BTE SP will be positive going forward and that after Q3 there should be an increase to ...more

Shubham Garg said that bte's Canadian assets are very good, especially Peavine (Clearwater) and their Lloydminster acreage will produce for the next 30 years. He said in his Jan 2023 O&G Macro outlook that the rising demand for jet fuel because of the sharply increasing air travel will create much higher demand for heavy oil from which most jet fuel and diesel comes from. He predicted jet ...more

Kelvin, you make many good points here, and I agree it will be helpful to keep a close eye on Eagle Ford results going forward.  At the same time, with respect to Eagle Ford's "double whammy", there is another view.  I recall Mr. Nuttall a while back claiming, after investigation, that the Canadian Baytex's superior technology, when applied at Eagle Ford, would overcome ...more
Comment by Kelvin on Sep 08, 2023 10:25am
Yes I'm in the process of finding out what exactly that superior technology is. Shubham Garg is a petroleum engineer graduate from the Unuversity of Alberta with years of hands-on experience in completions and production. With regard to Peavine he said that Baytex was looking at drilling the wells with a new design of drilling fluids but did not elaborate. Knowing something about drilling ...more

Further to my last message, the Eagle Ford still has a huge amount of oil in place that operators have a hard time producing profitably. Maybe bte has found a way to go back to older wells and do workovers and to stimulate them to boost from say, a 100 bbl/day well to 300 bbl/day for another 7 years or so.
Comment by jleer42 on Sep 08, 2023 10:50am
BTE is using polymer flooding in Bluesky (Seal), I'm not sure what they are doing in Clearwater. In addition to finding the right polymer, nano particles are a newer addition to flooding. As I understand it it is trial and error to find the best liquid to flood with. I'm not a chemist, but Shubum covered flooding in his most recent presentation on Prospera Energy.

Thanks jleer42 I'll watch the video today. The guy knows his stuff, that's for sure.
Comment by Kelvin on Sep 08, 2023 7:35pm
jleer42, OK I just watched the video that you mentioned. Bte Laporte, pilot project, polymer flood,  doubled production up to 700 bbl/day. But took various trials using different polymers. They're experts at it. Also nanoflood is great for heavy oil. New technology. Probably using it in Clearwater. Anyway they also have lots of abandoned that they're going to put online again with ...more
