If you're interested in Baytex or any other energy company as an investment...you should still be holding shares as we speak rather than be concerned about the noise elsewhere.. Q3 number for these companies is the next catalyst and they are going to be coming fast and furious over the next couple weeks...the excitement generated is going to reverberate to other companies in the sector..:Q4 ...more

Riski that is very nice that you are congratulating this poster on his gains but this particlar poster is another character who posts misinformation to try and benefit from his dishonesty. I would not believe anything he posts.

Lol if I am dishonest than any fund manager would be the biggest. They sell and buy at moment's notice.  When bte went to 5.17 after 5.99 that was the signal to take profits. Economy is not healthy oil is real hated right now.  Profit is profit that's how to how you build wealth brick by brick...glta I would be back when things look good to me, till then ciao

And thank you Riski, I always look forward to your posts when I am bullish...when bearish I am deep blue and cobalts friends. I never claim to be holding the equities when I am short selling or sitting on the sidelines. Theres a difference. I am a realist who sells to the optimists and buys from the pessimists. Forgive the typos. I make too many

And here is Cobalt attempting to convince people to sell. Don't you want to add a comment about how MEG is a better play?

3 months: BTE 32.6%,                  MEG 21.5% I can pick endpoints in history too. If anything, the more recent data would support a trader buying BTE over MEG using a momentum strategy.  But it is totally irrelevant information. 1 year ago is so long ago, it's ancient history by market standards. 2 years is practically prehistoric. Nothingmatters, not sure if this was exactly your situation, but if I was holding naked call options with an expiry date in November, I would cash them in too.  In that case, the potential loss from even a temporary dip in BTE's stock price could be too great.  For those of us holding the stock or long-dated options, the risk of getting caught on a downturn is less.

I have naked a Nov BTE call's $5.50,$5.75, and $6's for 240 contracts and anticipating a decent return. I'll likely excercise all and sell off a small portion..The liquidity in BTE calls could be better, thus I figure I'll get a better price holding to maturity GLTA
