Juniper Shares

Juniper shares are next week, BTE took a beating last time and I expect more of the same again. Only after that sell off may it be safe to buy BTE, but it may not even be then.

This is the big challenge, Juniper still holds over 100,000 millions share for sale, 50,000 millions next week and  in 2024 an antoher 50,000.00 for sale and dont forget the Nutall with his millions of share, if Nutall is going to sell off his shares, BTE will be an disaster. This is the reason I am waiting before to put  more money in BTE. Good thing for me my average is low, so I can ...more

I think you got your units wrong. Regardless, I doubt Eric is going to sell at least levels, he would realize a historic amount of loss for his fund. He also has said he personally owns an "unhealthy" amount in his personal portfolio so at most I'd see him sell when at least it gods back up a bit and he trims back his positions.

We will see with the time anyway, but I still waiting to buy more BTE shares, this is not a big rush specialy  with all the negative stuffs day after days.

I believe I read a while back that December 17 is the date the shares can be sold by Juniper. So, I would expect starting Monday to be some selling pressure on BTE next week. Friday, Sept 19 $5.86, by Wednesday it hit $5.39 an 8% drop. It did rebound by the following Wednesday. This time may be more orderly, but just beware it is coming.

Good morning all,  Just came back from a trip to Las Vegas, Baytex is not a roulette play ! Not a good timing to left the table, for my Point of view ! Juniper still owns over 100 M shares received initially with the deal at 4,12$ US  i am not sure they want to lose another 20% on this deal. That's make this deal an error for them ! If it's the case, I hope Baytey has enough ...more

I believe BTE is not permitted to particpate in purchasing shares from the second - and first - tranche of shares.
Comment by Sugaree on Dec 15, 2023 10:11am
Eric Greager responded to a question last conference call, Baytex cannot enter a pre-arranged agreement to buy the shares coming up next week. They may end up buying some inadvertently through the NCIB, but that is it. But the question remains, will Juniper dump a lot next week to reallocate the capital, or wait out a bit longer for a rebound in Baytex share price. We will know by Christmas day.

More fresh details about it from Brian Ector itself : Questions : Can Baytex buy back the shares of Juniper, with this agreement ? If so, could it be considered in whole or in part through the actual NCIB ? Juniper owns ~ 12% of our shares outstanding today. With Juniper over 10% they are deemed an insider and we are not allowed to repurchase shares directly from an insider. If and when ...more

Just to be sure, here is my understanding of the situation. Actually Juniper owns roughly 102M shares of Baytex initially acquired at 4,12$ US, which worth 5,65$ CDN per shares. If Juniper sell 51M shares today they lose  (5,65$-4,50$ actual price) X 51M === 58,6M$. Not sure it's a good timing to do it and lose 25% ! Baytex may bought back shares of juniper when Juniper is no more ...more

Juniper can sell their second tranche. The early warning for sale was made Sept 19. My guess is Juniper will not sell due to the low price of BTE. Which is surprising since Juniper's BTE value is about $459M (102M x 4.5) and Juniper capital is worth $1.5B (per their website). And Juniper would not like to have to be regulated as an insider. I would have thought Juniper would at least sell 2 ...more

I think they will wait for an opportunity to sell enough shares to get under the 10% threshold, then work out a deal with management to buy out the remaining shares (at a slight premium to whatever market price at the time they deem a good time to dispose)
Comment by Sugaree on Dec 20, 2023 12:25pm
Looks like Juniper have decided to hang on to this tranche of shares for now. Makes sense.
