Juniper Shares
Juniper shares are next week, BTE took a beating last time and I expect more of the same again. Only after that sell off may it be safe to buy BTE, but it may not even be then.

I think you got your units wrong. Regardless, I doubt Eric is going to sell at least levels, he would realize a historic amount of loss for his fund. He also has said he personally owns an "unhealthy" amount in his personal portfolio so at most I'd see him sell when at least it gods back up a bit and he trims back his positions.

I believe I read a while back that December 17 is the date the shares can be sold by Juniper. So, I would expect starting Monday to be some selling pressure on BTE next week. Friday, Sept 19 $5.86, by Wednesday it hit $5.39 an 8% drop. It did rebound by the following Wednesday. This time may be more orderly, but just beware it is coming.

I believe BTE is not permitted to particpate in purchasing shares from the second - and first - tranche of shares.

Eric Greager responded to a question last conference call, Baytex cannot enter a pre-arranged agreement to buy the shares coming up next week. They may end up buying some inadvertently through the NCIB, but that is it. But the question remains, will Juniper dump a lot next week to reallocate the capital, or wait out a bit longer for a rebound in Baytex share price. We will know by Christmas day.

I think they will wait for an opportunity to sell enough shares to get under the 10% threshold, then work out a deal with management to buy out the remaining shares (at a slight premium to whatever market price at the time they deem a good time to dispose)

Looks like Juniper have decided to hang on to this tranche of shares for now. Makes sense.
