POSSIBLE Consequence Of MRO BUYOUT: + BTE CAPEX In EF

- with the PROPOSED BUYOUT of MRO by COP, it is 'HIGHLY LIKELY' that COP will INCREASE the PACE of the Eagle Ford DRILLING

- since COP will be the OPERATOR of the COP/BTE PARTNERSHIP, BTE will HAVE NO CHOICE but to TAG ALONG and INCREASE PARTNERSHIP CAPEX

- I DON'T THINK BTE will COMMENT on this TRANSACTION until the MRO shareholders VOTE IN FAVOR and it get's REGULATORY APPROVAL z173

What is the transaction per MRO barrel and can that be translated into a potential buyout value for Baytex non-op 30% barrels?
Comment by ManitobaCanuck on May 29, 2024 10:06am
They paid around 50k US  per flowing barrel for MRO .I havent calculated drilling inventory and reserves,DEBT ETC

IIRC, prior to the Ranger deal, wasn't the eagle frod production around 30,000 barrels a day? I'd take 50K a barrel in a heart beat. That's bve 1.5B US. That would literally wipe the debt out.

Yeah but what break even cost? What is bte's break even cost in Eagle Ford? US$ 58 pet barrel? Doesn't leave much netback (seliing price minus breakeven cost).
Comment by Marty47 on May 29, 2024 12:14pm
Break Even cost at 30$ Baytex said the last merger would lower the break even cost by 7 per barrel
Comment by Kelvin on May 29, 2024 12:42pm
AI says different. Breakwven was $30 per barrel before Ranger acquisition. Now $58 wirh morw dwbt. Bte got sucked in. Geez! They're now having resort to refrac wells to try to boost production. What? They got no other pros0ects but "bottom feede4" already depleted fields that they bought fron Ranger? Where is XOM's great investment in the Permian after buying Pioneer for $60 ...more

Hy Marty your saying there cost per barrel is about $30 which is fenominal! So there basically  just printing money at $78 wti.... so if so you think the market is just punishing baytex cause of a not great  Financials! Think the second quator is going to be telling! Let's go baytex! We held this long what's few more months..
Comment by Marty47 on May 29, 2024 4:25pm
Y'a that was before the acquisition , but it state now at 50$ ...... let's go Baytex pump up
Comment by DufusDweeb on May 29, 2024 1:15pm
I read BTE paid $47K US per flowing barrel for Ranger so 50K US for MRO seems in line.
