Baytex valuation way undervalued...

It is very clear that $BTE valuation is highly undervalued and again Management of $BTE.TO understand it like John Zechner on Market call today. https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/video/shows/market-call/2024/08/13/john-zechners-top-picks-baytex-energy-meta-platforms-and-bce/

They buyback over 20% of the shares traded on the NYSE today

I wish BTE paid a better dividend. So the value is there but for dividend investors there's not much going on. Since you're not getting paid to wait, then it's a real test of patience. Perhaps if they raised the dividend they would get more attention. I like BTE but I need more than 1.8% dividend.

I don't think a higher dividend would make a difference.  I hold Whitecap as well (pays a hefty dividend)and it hasn't performed any better, all things considered.

the debt issue is true and their  past too, just look CPG  what they did to trying to change their bad reputation, new   name  Veren, but their old goshts  still there and you can see that in the share price . BTE is not better than Veren, so do your own conclusio. I am going to move again soon and say Good Bye to BBBTTTEEE.

Dandu, didn't you sell all your BTE holdings at a LOSS last week? LMAO, let me find that post of yours.  I am super happy that whining nincumpoop disgrace like you is OUT (well I bet you were never a shareholder), it will bring BTE stock good fortune :) All the best with your next peanut stock picks and continued losses!

Bte has debt and buybacks to deal with before a higher divi I wish it had no divi as it's so small it's pointless that money should be going to debt and buybacks. The float is way to big.

Exactly it drives me nuts to hear people say raise the dividend when that money could easily go to paying off debt which gives much better returns. That and someone on Yahoo finance suggesting they do a reverse split really have me question some people's investing knowledge.
Comment by Marty47 on Aug 14, 2024 12:25pm
People need to get over with the dividend , management already said once they achieve debt level fcf will increase to shareholders , but as I said before , and management also said it , they buybacks for now are best metrics for shareholders return , and it's easy to see when you understand how business work and managerial accounting etc , but many here just give opinions without knowledge of ...more

Assuming we don't have any activist shareholders here who can influence company decisions, it's much easier for people to buy stocks which align with what they want. If you want dividends buy a producer with a high dividend yield. Baytex has said dividends are not thier priority so why would anyone expect that to change?
