No good sign

Doesn't look good for oil stocks, some people know things that we the retail investor don't.

I have been out of the sector for a little over 2 weeks. Now the tough part...when to reenter the stock.

You might also see that you would want to avoid oil investments in the fall unless you're Frank investing on conspiracy theories.

I could never understand how hedge, private equity or market makers can manipulate the oil price. It's determined on the futures market where you have to deliver and not the options market where you have an option to deliver or not. So, say Goldman Sachs wants oil price to go up to $90. They promise to deliver "x" amount of barrels at $90 six months from now. Who would buy their ...more

Further to my last, the only people who could manipulate the oil price are people who can actually deliver oil at a profit because they already own the oil acquired at a lower cost than their offer price. A bunch of wanking opportunist posers on Bay or Wall Street with Commerxe degrees who would be living in the stone age if left to their own devices can't influence anything because they ...more

Nutty said oil over $100 and BTE at $12.00 in late 2023 ir early in 2024. Swing and a large miss. And TVE was supposed $8.00, zero cred.

Poor Nutty, He's going to be kicked out of his own fund.
Comment by AndrewWiggin on Sep 10, 2024 1:21pm
I don't remember Eric talking about $65 oil.
Comment by IainCaimbeul on Sep 10, 2024 1:43pm
Maybe WCS? Nope that's less than $65 currently. What could he have been going about?

- YOU are SEVERELY UNDERESTIMATING the "GREATER FOOL" theory which UNDERPINS the PAPER TRADING of FUTURES CONTRACTS  - the SYSTEM is DYNAMICALLY RIGGED with BAD ACTORS who have EASY ACCESS to HUGE POOLS of CAPITAL - these COMPLEX, MULTI-LAYERED and TARGETED WEALTH EXTRACTIONS are NOTORIOUSLY UNSTABLE and PRONE to MASSIVE BUBBLES and BURSTS when the COST OF CREDIT is ARTIFICIALLY ...more

Kevin ...let me explain the con game here ...the hedge fund banksters .....buy lots of put options .on various liquid e and p companies ...ie Exxon etc ....then they next day short the oil futures into the basement ....cash in the options ....and place. Call option on the very stock driven to the basement ...lol ...next up goes oil up up ....cash in all the call options and ....yikes an easy   ...more

Well Frank, it's way above my head. Yeah what's the detivatives market worth these days? In the hundreds of trillions? There's no intrinsic value backing it. It's like a bet on a Yankees, Blue Jays game. Nothing more. The bet only has value if you win. Too complicated for me cause you're playing probabilities. OK so the shorters knew that bte dp and oil ptice would ptobably ...more

Yeah I read about day trading. You need volume and liquidity and lots of money. If you get it right about 60% of the time you can squeeze out some good money depending on how much you have in play every day. Plus you're probably not in it so much for the money. You love the game. Diffetent mindset from mine. I bet on the people running things. I look for quality like Derek Evans CEO of Meg. If ...more
