The Israeli army (IDF) has launched a new strategy dubbed "arms economy" in response to dwindling ammunition stockpiles and arms embargoes imposed by several Western countries, Haaretz reported on Sunday. The main goal of the strategy is to more strictly regulate the use of heavy weapons such as missiles, bombs and other types of ammunition.
Due to a shortage of weapons, Israeli army commanders must now obtain approval to use heavy weapons from senior leaders, including brigadier generals. While the measure does not apply to air defense systems such as Iron Dome, it is intended to allow the army to prioritize its resources based on the urgency and importance of each specific target.
The changes in stockpile management come as Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant has postponed a visit to the United States. The meeting was expected to be an opportunity to discuss Israel's weapons needs and strategic issues related to the strikes on Iran. However, the visit was postponed after several Western countries, including Britain, Germany and Canada, imposed restrictions on arms exports to Israel in response to the escalating tensions in the region and growing international concerns about the scale of the armed conflict. *** - MAYBE, that is WHY they are HOLDING BACK to STRIKE Iran z173 : https://avia-pro.net/news/u-izrailya-nachalas-katastroficheskaya-nehvatka-raket-i-aviabomb
