Prior to Q3 release ...........

Brian Ector had indicated to me that Q3 E&D would likely come in at $340-350 million in line with Q2 but in reality it came in at $305 million.

I think the company demonstrated that they are fluid and will adjust things as the market dictates so it's possible Q1/25 expenditures are not quite as steep as what many feel it will be. Q1/24 was over $400 million but they very well may modify that kind of number down considering where the market is right now.

We shall see.

Well we got the response why buybacks is a good strategy ..... nobody is buying mid cap thus Baytex will buy them ..... long long term plus

Their budget may be prudent and inline with expectations however that doesn't make it good in relative terms  It's taking way too much capex to produce the fcf.  1.2 - 1.3 B to produce 600 fcf at 75 wti.  And that's flat production coupled with high debt relative to other O&G  Brian will tell - or Eric in a CC - that our balance sheet is strong.
