One more thing that I should mention. You might want to hang on to older TV and computer displays. Don't throw them out. Most LCD's are LED backlit. Those LEDs are semiconductor P-N junctions. Reverse bias them and you convert them into photovoltaic cells to make solar panels.
Also keep all semiconductor chips in the electronics. They last 10 to 20 years. You can make a lot of stuff out of them - rectifiers to convert ac into dc, inverters to convert dc into ac, power supplies, chargers, filters, regulators etc.
Semiconductor chips will become the new gold.
