Ranger deal was a good deal

Eric Gregor has 1.1 million shares. He has turned
around two oil companies and is very capable of
doing the same with Baytex. Maybe a deal
does materialize where they can sell their Texas assets
pay off debt and concentrate on heavy oil.
The total sum of the parts is more than double the
current share price. I have been adding here.
But looking like 2025 will be another  70 to 80
per barrel year.

What a genius idea, sell Texas assets, they just bought the Ranger Oil at a valuation of combined $1B FCF/year at $75 WTI and now they forecast $600M/year at $75 WTI, this is 40% drop in FCF, so no one will buy Ranger Oil assets unless BTE sells it for maybe 30 to 40% lower of what BTE paid for it. No matter what, this is clear like a mirror that BTE paid way more than that Ranger oil was worth ...more
