Burcon NutraScience Corp > NESTLE takeover

NESTLE takeover

i think it would be more logic if NESTLE would buy Burcon.
Nestle develops products and would be able to play with all the existing patents and knowledge of Burcon to create great new food without paying licence fees.

Bunge is - simply said - just the producer of raw material....

But perhaps we see an overtake battle between both (and in addition perhaps a SPAC)...
would be great !

My idea is that Beacon wanted to wakeup Nestle by telling Bunge would be the overtaker...

any thoughts ?

Nestle has developed their own ingredients.  BUrcon was just  one supplier for the North American Market. Nestl plans to launch a vegan KitKat bar 19 Feb 2021 For those looking for plant-based treats, KitKat bars will soon offer a vegan alternative, announced Swiss CPG giant Nestl. The newest KitKat formulation will be called KitKat V, and it will be certified vegan as well as use ...more

ofc Nestle has own ingredients but for what is this an argument ??? ever heard that you always like to have better or additional TOP ingredients ? i think thats the reason for the coop with Burcon Burcon has a lot of super ingredients and technology for further ones... no one likes to see that be overtaken by other ones or opponents in the market....

Nestle is in the Food business not the food ingredients business.  ADM and Cargill are in the food ingredients business. For a fraction of the cost of buying Burcon they have through a  partnership with Burcon and Merit access to expertise and a new range of high-quality ingredients for plant-based food and beverages."

Rook, i think you still do not get it. 1. it is alswys better to have the production of ingredients IN YOUR OWN house as you can directly change some parameters in ingredients 2. Nestle is aware that ingredients of Burcon are really UNIQUE. so they know about the risk that t.ex. Danone or Kraft or Pepsi or... (opponents of nestle in the market) will buy Burcon and HAVE CONTROL OVER THE ...more

It depends on which products nestle might be interested in. some of them are not under the control of Burcon, but under the control of Merit. And it is a strategic decision for Nestle to stay in the food business or to expand into the food ingredients business. I don't expect that to happen, as the Burcon business is too specialized and not in line with Nestle's broad approach.

Merit has no control over the ingredients, they are producing some of Burcons patented products. Perhaps they could tailor some of the products to customers needs but they don't have any control of the proprietary products     “Our joint venture company, Merit Functional Foods, successfully completed the construction of Phase 1 of its 94,000 square foot, state-of-the-art ...more

The best deal would be for Burcon to merge with Merit and pay with new shares. Burcon would regain full control of all products, gain strong management for further growth and Merit shareholders would have liquid and loanable shares. That would be the best for the SP. But I think Tergesen is not smarte enough for that.

The best deal for us is to see this idiot (Summer001) out of this group. We don't need a crooked short seller among us. Be aware of this snake and don't believe anything Summer001 says!!!
