Q1 was great but Q2 is going to be enormous.  Lumber benchmark pricing and volumes are much higher in Q2. I think the slump is just based on waiting to hear what Canfor does with the cash, more buybacks, special div, elimate all debt are all on the table and not just possible but likely.  I also wouldn't be suprised if WY or LPX makes offers on Canadian companies while they are ...more

Beautiful quarter...Record quarterly reported operating income of $603 million ... Shareholder net income of $428 million, or $3.42 per share.... Net debt of $85 million at March 31, 2021; $225 million repayment of term debt in the current quarter You certainly cant complain about those numbers inless you are an analyst who has not clue ...more

Yes. Todays lumber for May is trading at $1454, ,up 49.6% over the  $972 average for the first quarter.This implies a second quarter earnings of in excess of $4.00 ,at the very least a15% gain compared to the just reported quarter. With a consevative estimate of $7.50 for the first half and well through the double digit level even allowing for a slow down in the second half .Think of all the ...more

Hard to believe Canfor had 2B of sales/revenue with 430m of profit in Q1 alone... and the market cap of Canfor is only 3.8B.  And as others have posted Q2 lumber is 50% higher than Q1 and sales volume will also be higher as its the start of Spring/building season.  I completely agree that these canadian lumber companies are all prime takeover targets.
