N.A.V. holding

As of January 3 the posted N.A.V. of CGQ.e was $4.46.  This just 1¢ below last month and 10¢ above November.  I am still slowly unloading and hope to be completely out this month or sooner.   I love the dividend but can't afford the capital losses if this stock suddenly trades below $5.00.   The portfolio is strong IMHO but the odds that this fund will gain 35+% before the termination date to current trading $6.00+ is highly unlikely.

Hi Spazzman, I feel the Termination Date would be renewed to a future date. With the economy 'coming back', chances are they will not want this fund end just when times are coming back for the better.

Here are two answers I received regarding CGQ.e. The first deals with the termination date and the second paragraph is in reference to the payout at the termination date. The payout of $15.00 per share was canceled therefore shareholders will only receive the N.A.V. of CGQ.e on that date. NOTHING more.Good afternoon, spazzmanShould management receive feedback from investors regarding the desire to ...more

If the majority of the shareholders are in the same boat, then they would prefer an extension, and feedback this intention to the Board. Then this fund would be extended. Question is : are there many shareholders who would prefer to leave their money with CGQ.e ?
Comment by spazzman on Jan 15, 2013 4:26pm
Of course the shareholders would love an extension, but CGQ.e can't keep hemorrhaging cash to maintain this dividend.   A market turn around will not be enough IMHO to raise the N.A.V.  up to current market price. Sooner or later shareholders will realize that they are standing on very thin ice and like HIT.un and others the market price will reflect the current N.A.V. its just a ...more

Thank you, spazzman,.. I think it's better not to speculate on any negative outcome yet until the events have actually taken place. We have two possible negative outsomes in your previous posting :- 1) The market turning around will not be able to raise the nav - actually we are not sure about this for we don't really know the exact calculation. 2) Sooner or later, shareholders will ...more

Opinions aside the math says GOOD LUCK regarding the N.A.V. raising to current trading price >$6.00 The more likely outcome will be the current price dropping to  the N.A.V. plus the remaining dividends. JR I wish this fund could have continued to pay long after I retire.  I believe that new shareholders are being confused  by the Quadravest web site.  The initial  ...more

Spazzman, I'm sorry about this. I would then cutloss NOW if I were you. I'm not happy to say this, but guessed I'm relieved I never bought this one. I have FTN and FFN, but not this one. Guess not all the split stocks are able to perform to expectations,....

As I have posted since September 2012- I have been slowly selling off my position and should be out be the end of this month.  My break even price (not including earned dividends) is $6.18.  I had capital gains in 2012 and to my surprise I continue to get my asking price above this.  go figure! I am not complaining.

Spazzman,.. I'm happy for you. You maneuvered it very well. Even if you sell now, you would still enjoy cap gain on top of the divvies collected. Congratulations.
