Big wins

Lawsuit win plus the huge holiday season coming. Positive EPS for the December in my opinion. Fundamentals will move the stock up going into 2022. Omicron fears will eventually subbside as just as Delta's did

Yes, it's positive for Cineplex but, sounds like Cineworld is heavily in debt. $5-8 billion depending on what report you read so, if and when they will be able to pay Cineplex is anyone's guess. Likely, appeals will keep the case tied up in court for another two years or so. Cineworld will have to borrow more money at unfavourable terms eventually, if they want to pay Cineplex. Cineplex will never see 1.2 Billion. If you bought yesterday, you should be selling today !!

Exactly cineworld market cap will be what by end of day?

I am letting this one run.  Not selling here.  Our 21st century plague is coming to an end.  It's been two years and already longer than Spanish from 1919 that was 1 1/2 years. cineplex is a monopoly with no other players.  Cineworld can pay.  They have assets they can sell.  Grounds for appeal are weak so overall this is long term hold for me.

The other possibility is a revised takeover/merger deal with Cineplex negotiating from a far more powerful position now. Cineplex could end up taking over Cineworld for pennies on the dollar!

I highly doubt that scenario, more likely Cineword will negotiate a new buyout offer at much less $$$$$
Comment by Schussing56 on Dec 16, 2021 8:41am
Well, I think negotiating strategies are often based on leverage. Cineplex's leverage increased monumentally with the court win and the large amount of money owing to them. This means they would be approaching a negotiation from a much more powerful position now.

Its just on paper, Cineplex will never see that 1.2B nothing even close, the best they can wish for is a renegotiated buy out for much less. Sell while you can this is going back to $8
Comment by Schussing56 on Dec 17, 2021 8:21am
Totally disagree. Even without the Cineworld win, Cineplex is in great shape financially and, 2022 is projected to be one of the best years on record. There are many major movies such as Top Gun, Batman, and Thor: Love & Thunder, that are projected to make boatloads of cash for companies like Cineplex. They've also done a good job diversifying their offerings and offer an all round ...more

They wont pay 1.2 billion, even if they "can pay" Why would they ???  They will not absorb that kind of hit.....When the dust settles it will be nothing close to 1.2B if not zero, they were offering WAY too much even before Covid. Cineplex has been dying for years.
