Getting in on Cineplex right now seems like a no brainer, I can't believe it's still trading so low.

After a year or two of normal theatre operations this is going to be back above $20 easily. And depending on what happens with Cineworld, this will just pop even higher.

 

From $13 to $20 or even $30 in just one year? I'll take that rate of return any day!

I expect Q1 to be a little on the meal side because of theaters being closed all of January.. bit expect Q2 to be very strong with the stellar list of movies that will be released.

You may want to do a bit more research. Cineplex’s business model was already being challenged by in-home entertainment companies such as Netflix, even prior to the pandemic. Cineplex has made some adjustments such as in-theatre gaming and a subscription service but, certainly, Netflix, Hulu, Disney, etc. have taken away some of Cineplex’s revenue. the streaming model for movies is showing to be a poor source of revenue. WB released all their movies to streaming in 2021 and they made very little money and saw little return from HBO max subs. Hence this year everything is theater only release. While i don't think movies will return to their pre pandemic level for a long time, I do see strong upside in the near future in Cineplex valuation ...more

A very valid point. Also, through this pandemic, if anything, Cineplex has learnt how to run the business much more efficiently, hence will push the margin even higher.
