Why is it tanking today after really good results?
Is there a busier board somewhere for Cineplex?

Probably because of this: "2023 includes recovery of approximately $158.4 million related to the recognition of deferred income tax assets recognized during the second quarter" Results are not nearly as good as they look.

Solid numbers year over year. Writers strike is dragging share price . Once it's settled, and next quarter we get Barbie and Mission impossible...... should be trading in the $15 range imo

That's an ongoing pressure on price for the past few weeks and resolution of the strike will be a positive catalyst. However, OP was asking about today's reaction to the earnings release. Looked great at a glance, but read the details and it's a mixed bag.

Not sure how we get to $15 with 900 million in debt they didnt have before, which by itself is 15 per share of debt
