The following are a couple of excerpts from various Chemtrade documents that highlight the importance of contractor safety on Chemtrade's premises and who is ultimately responsible.

"We have comprehensive health and safety programs to protect our employees and contractors in every area of our operations. Our occupational health and safety programs focus on the safe execution of all work at all locations". p.9, 2021 Supplemental Sustainability Report

Emily Powers joined Chemtrade in June 2016 and leads the Human Resources and Responsible Care functions.

. Contractor safety achieved the best results in past 3 years". p.38, 2022 Management Information Circular.

Keep in mind that the above safety metric although later proved to be bogus, helped to get Emily a 130% rating on her individual performance bonus for 2021! Therefore, it only stands to reason that if she receives a financial benefit based upon a good contractor safety record, she must also shoulder some responsibility for a bad contractor safety record!
