Kherson and Reddeer

You both made a good point , but only Reddeer is getting that monthly distribution. In the case of Time builder , that new high is only if you look at the last 5 or 6 years , as Kherson has mentioned before , this used to be an $18 stock, but granted new mgmt and iniatives are now gaining traction , hopefully the bad old days are over.

Looks like Reindeer got into the liquor early this long weekend! What Reindeer forgot to mention is the fact that his Chemtrade units are worth about $10 less each since he bought them back in 2017 and before! Keep in mind that since Chemtrade units pay a distribution, you do not get the dividend tax credit and he can only claim 50% of his capital losses, if he sells his units now. Anyway you ...more

Distributions can be..... eligible dividends, ineligible dividends, interest, other investment income, capital gains dividends, capital gains, foreign income, return of capital....... I know this has question has arisen here before. Distribution is a generic term for dividing something among a group....an eligible dividend is an after tax corporate distribution to ...more

This is all spelled out on CRA's website. Just read it, and will you two give it a rest? You are getting tiresome.
Comment by Kherson on May 21, 2024 10:22am
You are clearly showing your lack of understanding of our tax laws. My original point on this thread was that Chemtrade's distributions are not eligible for the dividend tax credit. As for the Chemtrade link to the tax requirements from the CRA, I am fully aware of that as it is what I based my original argument upon. There are no direct credits for other income, ineligible dividends and ...more

KHERSON__I DO KNOW the CDN Tax Law VERY WELL__MUCH BETTER than YOU__As INDICATED by ALL Your Previous POSTS on this Thread. INDEED Other Income and Foreign Income ARE Taxed 100%__Just like Interest or Salaried income__Thus Taxed the MOST of the Various INCOME Sources. BUT__ONCE AGAIN__You Are DEAD WRONG with Regard to INELIGIBLE DIVIDENDS__As They DO GET a DIVIDEND TAX CREDIT https://kpu ...more

But Reindeer, if you would have sold your full position back in January 2017, you would have made a profit in the form of a Capital Gain of around $8 per unit, according to my calculation. As for my bashing, as you call it, my opinions of Chemtrade from that time were proven correct. Pigs get slaughtered. Kherson

Hey KHERSON__INDEED a NICE Capital Gain ""ON PAPER"" Was There in January 2017 But LONG TIME Before 2017 I Had EVOLVED into a BUY & HOLD Income Seeking INVESTOR THUS Being a Totally BUY & HOLD Investor HARDLY FITS Your Analogy of ""Pigs get slaughtered"" In Fact THAT IS What Happens to MOST ACTIVE Traders__CONSTANTLY Chasing CAPITAL GAINS ...more

Curious as to if you understand our Canadian tax system Reindeer? You do realize that outside of a tax shelter, you are being fully taxed on your distributions, but you would only of had to claim 50% of your Capital Gains? Looks to me like you have been blinded by your misguided principle of chasing yield! By the way, it was your old friend Kherson who was the first to state a few years back that ...more
