Rats and ships

Looks like the big guys/smart money  are jumping ship
Comment by Bookworm28 on Aug 15, 2021 8:59pm
Why would the big guys/smart money suffer through this pandemic for the last 12-18 months, then figure that now is the time to unload? Vaccination rates are up big time, planes are packed, workers are being called back to the airlines. I suspect that those who are vaccinated are probably more inclined to travel than those who aren't. I could be wrong, but all the people I know, are double ...more

just to suggest a possible explanation - many (including myself)  sold into the 2020 crash and bought even more in the $2 range.  now with rising covid infections, the threat of even more potent variants, and no immediate positives in the report -  investors are taking some profits?  plus so many warnings about a general market correction.  but i agree with you that ...more

Your epidemioloigst friend is wrong and in the minority. Lockdowns did not solve the problem last year, but instead created monster Federal debt ($354 billion up from $39 billion in 2019 pre-pandemic) and catapulted personal mortgage debt levels to unseen levels of which many who bought in the hinterlands are going to regret. Covid will not disappear, we will learn to live with it thanks to ...more

The vaccinated who represent the majority of the population here will soon feel safe once again to travel as boarding a flight will require vax proof. The unvaxxed will travel regardless but too bad for them they will need to drive or walk to their destination.

The likely answer is that they think it will fo down even more ?? and stay down for the next 12 months or so??  --  when they can buy it back

You must be kind of special. I and many others I know are really looking forward to times when we can book flights again (I don't think I know someone who told me they didn't want to get on a plane again).

Yes, run don't walk to the hills! The world is over as we know it. Take your epidemiologist friend with you. You never know, after a while, he may come in handy. Keep him fat and tied down. Too much exercise and he won't taste nearly as good.

The end of air travel?... haha that's your best shot? Not sure who you hang with but everyone I know is itching to travel again outside their own borders and some are already doing so.
Comment by equityresearch on Aug 18, 2021 6:04pm
Agreed. Most people I know are itching to travel or have already travelled domestically. Also, some companies have already started business travel which should help Chorus tremendously.

I hate travelling by plane but even I've got two separate flights booked.

I don't have any chorus shares but I do have a round trip flight booked to san diego with my wife on Jazz for October this year. Not sure why everyone is arguing about Canadian flights as a bulk of the revenues from the CPA should be fixed and increased flight volumes should not have that great of an effect on Chorus' revenue.
