Markets are notorious for staying irrational for longer than most investors can tolerate. Hence, whty many bail at the bottom for a loss despite the well-known advise of "buy low and sell high".

I don't buy that....If the stock has any chance of an upword movement , insiders would be buying and thats not the case even at the near 52 wk low

That is not always true. Most "insiders" are just hired folks who are content with their salary and any free shares that are granted to them. It is perfectly fine to expect them to invest their salary in other stocks/etfs and reduce their exposure. Don't expect them to be "invested" in the business as much as an entrepreneur would be.
