Share price at $4.80 today.  That's a reasonable price if earnings are going to be $0.80/year, PE = 6x.

Champion Iron has grown its trailing twelve month EPS to CA$1.01 based on production of 8 mtpa. This year the company is doubling production to 15 mtpa Assuming the ramp up delivers 50% more tonnes in the current financial year and 100% in the following year, then we could envisage an eps of $CA1.50 this year and $2.00 in the following year. I'm here for the doubling of production as well, but the price of 65% iron ore is a "Key Driver" of profitability, earnings and share price.  Therefore 50% more tonnes this year does not necessarily translate to 50% more earnings compared to last year. There are people (Dave Llewellyn-Smith macrobusiness.com.au) who have suggested P62 should be $70/tonne this year based on ...more
