I gather from this post and previous posts, that it is your contention that CIX is a... "far better investment than any bank stock". Since I own both CIX and two Canadian bank stocks (BMO and BNS), I took the opportunity to compare the three.  1st of all... to address your statement... "unlike the banks not restricted from buyback shares and increase dividends."

Awesome post Zack50 I always said that if banks aren't making money then I guarantee you no one else is.   Banks have been around for many years and will be around long after we are all gone and dead.  Can't say the same for other industries.   Sure they pay very good and rising dividends that are tough to beat when you look at the alternatives of GIC's or savings
