Oil and Nat Gas versus Wind and Solar Amid Freeze

Windmills and solar panels have frozen up in many states in the U.S., rotating power outages because of the demand. If we did not have oil and natural gas, the power bills would go to the moon!!!

I’m so sick of stupid green technology BS.

Fossil fuels save frickin lives right now!!! Group think stupidity at its best.

What the hell would happen if all the Tesla’s were hooked up to the grid right now???

People would be freezing to death but thank God we have Electric Vehicles!

I thank God everyday this week for the oil and natural gas heat that is keeping my family safe and warm.

Stockfy, wiell put! We have clinets in our biz in Texas and will be calling them today to get their take. The blackouts will be remembered at the mid-terms in '22 as a green energy ceiling -  snow on solar panels and ice on windmills could  create the 'moral' casue of fossil fuel that the greens like to overplay on the other side. I am all for progress - evolving energy ...more

Back - point is there could be a re-balancing of the 'moral' persusion of the mainstream population taken with the greens narrative that energy past is 'evil'. I am pointing out that there is a middle ground. Co-gen is an good attempt and smart move at evolving the application of fossil fuel; but the greens are still not satisfied with that. These events (Texas and US weather) may ...more

Is there ice and snow on solar panels? Oh no, they're doomed. DOOMED! If only they had like a brush, and like a worker, and the unfathomable ability to scale such a complex operation, but alas. ALAS! I wonder, did you also spell the end of oil back in the 70s when OPEC created 2 energy crises that made oil unaffordable for the average person? Did you predict the end of oil by tanker when the ...more

Not just during a pandemic. Obviously, cutting the heating when it's -30 outside is a problem. I didn't mean to sound dismissive about the current plight of those without power. I'm just saying it won't stop the transition to green energy that is already underway. Here's another way to deal with cold weather with green energy that doesn't even require electricity from the ...more

Did they not have a backup plan for the worst cold snap they've ever experienced? I guess not. But they will in the future. You make it sound like this is the first rolling blackout experienced in history. Are you forgetting that oil and gas have also been prone to accidents and shortages? Blackouts have been around for a lot longer than green energy. As for my source, I doubt that a ...more
